Your Pastors
Renita Hamm & Rob Goertz

Hello, my name is Rob. I am a grateful follower of Jesus Christ, and I struggle with many things. I came to faith as a child and came to the pastorate entirely accidentally. I have worked as a Millwright, Welder, and an adult educator (mostly safety-related). I returned to theological education at age 53 with a view toward prison or hospital chaplaincy. I came to the Rosebud Church on a lark because I heard you needed an interim pastor. I stayed on because: 1)I was asked, and 2)Rosebud Church makes me hopeful that people who are very different from each other and may disagree about many things can still be family to each other and love each other and learn to follow Jesus together.
I hope for the church (all who claim to follow Jesus) that we can continue to learn to love God more and our neighbor likewise. I work part-time (20 hours/ week) at Rosebud Church and part-time as a prison chaplain in Calgary.
I have been Married to Meredith since 1987. We currently live in Strathmore. We have three beautiful children Max, Kate, and Corin. We have one delightful son-in-law, Denver and anticipate a daughter in-law shortly. We are actively awaiting grandbabies. We survived the overdose death of our beautiful boy Benjamin in March of 2024.
Hello! My name is Renita and I’ve been a part of Rosebud Church for many years now. My fascination with stories of Jesus and stories of those Jesus loves, has taken me to different workplaces and finally brought me into the service of pastoral care in my own hometown. Born and raised a farm girl, I have a deep appreciation of the wide open landscape in Rosebud as well as the joys and challenges of sowing and harvesting. It’s also been a deep privilege to live and work in an arts village for many years, where the people in our congregation and in our community nurture faith, storytelling, creativity and beauty. I believe that when we see Jesus in each other’s lives, we will grow in faithfulness to the God of love who sustains us every day, in the ordinary and in the exquisite.
I am firstly a child of God and a follower of Jesus. I am also grateful to be married to Bill, and we joyfully share in the lives of our adult children, and delight in our 4 most remarkable granddaughters.
Ephesians 3:17-19 I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
